Ex-Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has this week opened the door to a return to the club down the line.
Midfielder Kroos, of course, brought a close to his legendary stint on the books of Spanish heavyweights Real this past summer.
After coming to the decision not to accept the latest one-year contract renewal offer put on the table by Los Blancos, the German opted to hang up his boots, for good.
Kroos, though, maintains close links with the game, overseeing his own academy in Madrid, as well as a weekly podcast surrounding all matters football.
And it was during the recording of the latest episode of the latter which the 34-year-old admitted that he is open to the possibility of returning to the Santiago Bernabéu at some point down the line.
Speaking on Einfach mal Luppen, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, Kroos explained:
“Given my closeness with Real Madrid… I’d never rule out doing something at the club at some point in the future. The relationship with Real Madrid will always be special.”
