Former Manchester United academy product Ethan Galbraith is on the radar of two Championship clubs.
Galbraith joined the youth team in 2017 from Linfield and made one appearance for the senior team.
He found first team opportunities hard to come by though and was sold to Leyton Orient in 2023.
The Belfast native has had an impressive season, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.
His great form helped guide his side to the final of the League One playoffs. Sadly, the Os were beaten 0-1 at the final hurdle by Charlton Athletic.
His fine displays have also seen a revival in his international career as he started in Northern Ireland’s 1-2 defeat to Denmark at the weekend.
Football Insider now report that he could be playing in the Championship next season, even if Leyton Orient failed in their promotion bid.
It is reported that, “Sheffield United and Swansea City are eyeing moves for Leyton Orient and Northern Ireland star Ethan Galbraith.”
Swansea have already shown their interest in him, as they had a £1 million bid knocked back in January for him.
Complicating matters for Leyton Orient, Galbraith only has one more year left on his deal.
Therefore, this may be the O’s last chance to sell for a worthwhile fee from their perspective, as he could walk away as a free agent next summer.
Sheffield United in particular could prove a tantalising prospect. They were moments away from reaching the Premier League, only to fall to a late comeback by Sunderland at Wembley in the Championship playoff final.
