Jurgen Klopp received plenty of tributes following his final game in charge of Liverpool on Sunday, but one kind message was a little more surprising than the rest.

The Reds took on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield on the final day of the Premier League season, claiming a 2-0 victory in Klopp's last match thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Jarell Quansah.

The performance was impressive and a perfect send-off for Liverpool's iconic German manager, with the club, players and supporters offering him an emotional farewell after the match.

However, perhaps the most surprising tribute came from former Everton star Richarlison, who sent a classy message to Klopp on Instagram ahead of his summer exit.

RICHARLISON'S JURGEN KLOPP TRIBUTE

Posting on his Instagram story, Tottenham forward Richarlison, who has had a fiery relationship with Liverpool fans for some time, penned a touching tribute to Klopp.

"Despite the rivalry that was only on the pitch, you are one of the best managers I have ever seen. May God bless your journey," wrote the Brazilian.

Richarlison is not a popular figure among Liverpool supporters and often played the villain in matches between the Reds and Everton during past seasons.

However, the striker showed his class this weekend in his farewell to Klopp, which is likely to endear him just a little to the Liverpool fanbase.

Richarlison was not the only rival who offered a heartfelt goodbye to the 56-year-old coach, with Manchester City boss also pouring praise on Klopp in an emotional press conference.

"I will miss him a lot. Jurgen has been a really important part of my life. He brought me to another level as a manager. We respect each other incredibly," said the Spaniard.
