Real Madrid president Florentino Perez used the platform of the Real Madrid Assembly to convey his deep admiration for key figures within the club, highlighting their importance to its rich history and future aspirations.

Starting with Vinicius Jr., who finished second in the Ballon d’Or ranking, Perez expressed pride in the Brazilian star, recognising him as not only one of the best players at Real Madrid but also arguably the finest in the world.

“We are proud of a player like Vinicius. For us, and for most football fans, the best player in the world,” the president began saying.

He commended Vinicius for his resilience in overcoming challenges and unfair criticism, which have shaped him into the exceptional player he is today. The president emphasised the admiration and support Vinicius enjoys from Real Madrid fans globally.

“Dear Vini, I want you to know that Madrid fans are proud of you, of everything you have had to endure at many times, unfairly. All this has made you the player you are,” said the Real Madrid president.

In response to criticisms about a lack of academy graduates in the first team, Perez firmly addressed the issue.
