Flamengo make contact with Anthony Martial | OneFootball

According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Flamengo have made contact with Anthony Martial (28) following an ACL injury to their starting striker Pedro (27).

With Pedro out for a significant amount of time, Flamengo have been looking for options that could come in and replace the forward. Martial has been a free agent since July having left Manchester United at the end of his contract.

The Frenchman had no shortage of suitors, particularly in France, where Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais were both thought to be interested in the striker. However, on each occasion, it was reported that he had ruled himself out of the running as he searched for the next step in his career.

More recently, Lille were rumoured to be interested in a move for the forward. However, the president of the club, Olivier Létang, was quick to dismiss the links suggesting that the club were well-stocked in his position.
