Fenerbahce are on the verge of making a significant statement in the transfer market by signing Paris Saint-Germain duo Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio, according to Foot Mercato.

Both players have been deemed surplus to requirements at PSG. Skriniar spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce, while Asensio had a six-month loan stint at Aston Villa.

Skriniar helped the Turkish giants secure second place in the league, which looks to have earned him a permanent move to Istanbul.

Asensio enjoyed a decent spell at Villa with eight goals in 21 matches, but they opted against signing him on a long-term basis.

He is now set to work under ex-Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho to bolster his bid for a spot in Spain’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Skriniar and Asensio would take Fenerbahce’s summer arrivals to six following the earlier acquisitions of Sofyan Amrabat, Jhon Duran, Archie Brown and Tarik Cetin.

Fenerbahce have also been recently linked with a move for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who is also a transfer target for rivals Galatasaray.

The Yellow Canaries are looking to strengthen their squad to compete domestically and in Europe next season.

Fenerbahce have not featured in the Champions League since 2009, but they will fancy their chances of ending that run soon.
