FC Bayern Women to face Sand | OneFootball

FC Bayern Women will begin their 2024/25 DFB Cup campaign against Sand. The draw for the second round was made on Tuesday evening by Verena Schweers and Renate Lingor. The knockout game will be played between 7 and 11 September, with Alexander Straus’s team being drawn away from home.

Bayern dominate head-to-head

Bayern and Sand have met 17 times before in competitive action, with the Munich ladies winning 14 of those. The current Bundesliga champions have suffered only one defeat against last season’s sixth-placed side in Bundesliga 2. There have also been two draws. The most recent encounter in February 2022 ended in a 4-0 Bayern victory thanks to goals from Jovana Damnjanović, Klara Bühl, Lina Magull and Glódís Viggósdóttir.

As a Bundesliga club, Bayern were placed in Pot 2 of the southern group and could therefore only be paired with a second, third or fourth-tier team from central or southern Germany.
