Father of Real Madrid star ‘complained about his son’s situation to the club’ | OneFootball

The father of a leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid over recent months made clear to the club his unhappiness with his role.

The player in question? Rodrygo.

Frontman Rodrygo is of course fresh off something of a challenging campaign in Spain’s capital in 2024/25.

Struggling over lengthy stretches, the Brazilian was singled out for regular criticism on the part of those of a Real Madrid persuasion.

His performances over the 2nd half of the season proved particularly underwhelming, with Rodrygo having managed to find the net just once beyond January.

And evidently of the opinion that such woes were at least in some part owing to misuse on the part of Carlo Ancelotti is the 24-year-old’s father.

As revealed by The Athletic on Tuesday:

‘In recent months, Eric Goes has complained about his son’s situation to the club.’

As much, it is added, ‘has not gone down well at various levels at Madrid’, only serving in adding to the ongoing speculation surrounding Rodrygo’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
