One of the most fascinating parts of Fantasy Premier League returning every year is the brand new pricing of every player in the game.

Who has dropped or risen in price? Who are the bargain buys? And, of course, who are the most expensive ones to own?

The premium assets are essential to success in FPL, but it is impossible to own all of them, so you have to make a judgment call as to who will be the most important to buy and how to fit them into an overall good team.

Some managers choose to pick the most expensive assets and fill their squad with cheap enablers, others choose to spread the funds around for a well balanced squad.

The pricing structure that FPL HQ have gone with this is an interesting one, as they have priced two players very expensively, but only ten players in total are priced at over £8m.

Fantasy Premier League: The five most expensive FPL players

5. Bukayo Saka (MID) – £10m

No change in pricing for Bukayo Saka, who missed a large chunk of the 2024/25 campaign through injury. The Arsenal man recorded six goals and 11 fantasy assists regardless, and he will once again be key to Mikel Arteta’s attack as they bid to finally win the Premier League.

=3. Cole Palmer (MID) – £10.5m

Again, no shift in pricing here as Cole Palmer remains at £10.5m. The Chelsea playmaker suffered a severe dip in form in the second half of last season, but he still came away with 15 goals and 10 fantasy assists and was excellent in the FIFA Club World Cup final win over PSG in July.

With the 23-year-old on penalties and the Blues having a nice run of fixtures to start the new term, Palmer could be essential for Gameweek 1.

=3. Alexander Isak (FWD) – £10.5m

It was an outstanding year for Alexander Isak, who contributed 23 goals and six fantasy assists to a successful Premier League campaign for Newcastle United, who qualified for the UEFA Champions League in addition to winning the League Cup.

The Sweden striker has seen his price rocket up, from £8.5m to £10.5m, which feels about right.

2. Erling Haaland (FWD) – £14m

Following a disappointing season, Erling Haaland has seen his price drop from £15m down to £14m. The Manchester City striker, though, still registered 22 goals and three assists, and one would expect him to at least match that tally this season, so his high price is more than justified.

However, FPL managers will likely have to choose between one of Haaland and Isak.

1. Mo Salah (MID) – £14.5m

Ahead of the price reveals it was speculated that Mo Salah could be priced at £15m, which was almost the case. The Liverpool star is the most expensive player in FPL at £14.5m, up from £12.5m after enjoying one of the greatest individual campaigns ever. The Egyptian winger scored 29 goals and provided 18 fantasy assists to rack up a phenomenal 344 points.

The question is: does Salah justify the money this year?
