Things are already bad at Toronto FC, but they're getting worse: fan protests are being stopped amid the club's awful form at BMO Field.

Toronto FC added yet another loss to its record on Saturday, May 3, after falling 2-0 to the New England Revolution. Since last season, Toronto has lost eight straight MLS games at BMO Field.

New England's Caleb Porter, in his pre-match presser for this fixture, felt that Toronto FC would come out playing desperate, but suffice to say that was not true. The team looked flat from the beginning, and if it was not for some miraculous saves from Sean Johnson, the scoreline would've been worse.

Carles Gil opened the scoring off a perfectly-timed volley, putting the Revolution up 1-0 just 11 minutes into the contest. Still in the first half, a counter-attack effort from the visitors ended with Leonardo Campana slotting the ball into the bottom left corner of the net past Johnson.

As bad as the product on the field was, things were equally bad, if not worse, in the crowd, with a whole supporters section leaving early in the contest.

BMO Field security reportedly take banners down from Toronto FC supporters group

Early in the contest, banners reading "this badge don't belong to you!!!" and "accept existence or expect resistance" were brandished from the supporters section of Section 114. Just after both banners went up, security at BMO Field reportedly took them down and away from supporters, which prompted this response from the supporters group.

A decent chunk of Section 114 left after the banners were removed and did not return for the rest of the match. Late in the contest, in stoppage time, the supporter sections looked depressingly empty, something that very well could become a theme at BMO Field if the losses continue.

While Toronto FC's spell of low-scoring games initially looked like a sign of life for the club, they have now gone on to lose three straight matches across MLS competition and the Canadian Championship. On top of that, the club has just one win in 11 MLS games, with only CF Montreal and LA Galaxy having fewer wins with zero.
