Nicolò Fagioli wasted little time garnering a starring role at Fiorentina and punished his former team Juventus with two assists in the most recent game. He provided a lucid analysis of his time with the Bianconeri and departure to Corriere dello Sport.
“I took back my life after the switch. I spent 11 years in Turin, and I felt lighter when I decided to leave, but I cried when I did it. It was a big blow, as I realized that a long phase of my life was ending and I was leaving my everyday places and teammates. It was traumatic, but I was welcomed very warmly. The new things eventually prevailed on the rest.”
Fagioli commented on what led to his Juventus farewell.
“Departing allowed me to exit the ‘kid’ phase. I had outgrown it. Moise Kean felt the same way. We were always those who came for the youth academy and the Next Gen and were treated as such. We paid the price for that.” “You must win all the time and can’t make mistakes in Turin. You’re out when you have some. If you’re young, you are the first to be changed, and nobody says anything. Only Massimiliano Allegri gave me the chance to play consistently. Thiago Motta no longer considered me after the Genoa and RB Leipzig matches. Fiorentina gave me back the pleasure of playing and some lightheartedness. I chose the team that wanted me the most.”
Fagioli addressed the betting-related suspension that marred his rise at Juventus.
“It all started as a game. Boredom ruined my life, and gambling became its center. I felt like suffocating, but you must not be scared to ask for help.”
