The fact that Noni Madueke is closing in on a deal to move to Arsenal has a lot of Chelsea fans assuming the Blues are ready to bring in another player to replace him.
Some would argue that Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, all added to the attack this summer, as well as new arrival Estevao Willian, have brought enough new options. But there are other arguing that the Madueke departure clears the way for a long awaited bid for West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus.
Enzo Maresca even had to answer questions about Kudus in his last press conference: “Mohammed is a West Ham player, he is not our player so I can’t say nothing. Only thing I can say is I know Kudus since Ajax,” the Chelsea coach said cryptically.
Regardless of squad building, it feels unlikely we make a serious bid until we’ve actually got some cashflow from sales. There are just too many spare parts at Cobham right now, and seemingly no progress on selling the likes of Joao Felix or Raheem Sterling.
But if we wait a month to make some outgoing moves, it may be too late for us and Kudus.

The bad news for fans who are really keen on the Ghana playmaker is that he seems to prefer a move to Tottenham, who have their bids further ahead than us already. Fabrizio Romano has reported that they’re “set to bid again” as the player is “keen on joining Spurs.”
Chelsea “have also been in touch,” but it seems like only in a much less direct way.
