PSG appear to be falling behind Arsenal in the race to sign one of Spain’s most promising young defenders. Arsenal have already agreed to personal terms with the player, putting them a step ahead in the transfer battle.

Despite boasting one of Ligue 1’s best defenses last season, PSG’s backline is starting to show signs of wear. Lucas Hernandez is back in action but still working his way back from a major injury. Marquinhos remains a vocal leader, but he’s lost some of the explosiveness that once set him apart.

Presnel Kimpembe continues to play an important role off the pitch, though his short- and long-term fitness remain uncertain. Luis Enrique is encouraged by Lucas Beraldo’s progress, but the Brazilian is still viewed as more of a depth option than a consistent starter for now.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Mosquera has made it clear to Valencia—he wants to join Arsenal. Personal terms have been agreed and sealed for weeks, and a new round of talks is expected next week to push the deal closer to completion.

Moreover, Romano notes that there’s no chance Mosquera signs a new contract with Valencia.

Real Madrid are reportedly exploring ways to strengthen their defense, with Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly and Valencia’s Yarek Gasiorowski and Mosquera both on their radar, according to recent information from Marca.

At the same time, Foot Mercato previously reported that Mosquera is also drawing interest from PSG, who are looking to add more youth to their backline. The defender has been a key figure for Valencia, and the club may be open to selling him to improve its financial situation.

However, Arsenal appear to be leading the race. If the Gunners put forward an offer that meets Valencia’s demands, they’re expected to land the promising young defender.
