Ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer at Anfield, Liverpool have been closely monitoring Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, who has been in fine form for Leeds United this season.
Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano explained that the club had been watching the 22-year-old for some time.
"They sent their scouts multiple times—even before [Michael] Edwards and [Richard] Hughes arrived at the club—to follow Summerville's progress," he said.
"The player is really appreciated."

And it's not difficult to see why. Summerville has been a standout performer for Leeds United in their push for promotion to the Premier League, contributing 20 goals and 10 assists under the guidance of manager Daniel Farke.
Summerville's performances this year have caught the eye of Liverpool's scouting team, who see him as a promising young talent with a keen eye for goal.
Operating primarily off the left wing, the Reds see Summerville as potentially capable of filling the void left by Luis Diaz, who, along with his father, has been flirting with the idea of signing for Spanish giants Barcelona for some time now.
Since his move from FC Porto in January 2022, Diaz has been a pivotal figure for Liverpool, but with speculation surrounding his future, the club is exploring alternatives.

However, securing Summerville's services won't be easy. With Leeds still vying for a second-place finish in the Championship, Liverpool may need to surpass the initially suggested £30 million fee to persuade the Yorkshire outfit to part ways with one of their most prized assets, especially if they eventually earn promotion.
The Dutchman initially made the move to Elland Road from Eredivisie club Feyenoord in September 2020 for a fee of just £1.3 million. With a valuation now of potentially more than 30 times that, Leeds definitely got themselves a bargain.
