According to a recent report from Defensa Central, David Alaba has informed new Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso that he is not planning to leave the club this summer.
Despite speculation linking him with a move away, the Austrian has made it clear that he wants to stay and help the team in any way possible.
These past months have not been easy for Alaba. After struggling with recurring knee issues and suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury that cut his previous season short, doubts emerged about whether he would continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But the defender has now broken his silence.
“Xabi, I’m staying and I’m going to help in any way I can,” Alaba reportedly told Alonso after the club made it clear they would respect whatever decision he made.
While Real Madrid would prefer to free up the €13 million gross salary he earns per season, especially with heavy investments made under Alonso’s new era, Alaba’s determination to contribute has been received with respect inside the dressing room.

Within Real Madrid, Alaba is more than just another player. The former Bayern Munich star is seen as a natural leader and a true winner.
His presence in the dressing room is valuable, especially as Real Madrid undergo changes on and off the pitch. Even if injuries have limited his on-field appearances, his experience and leadership remain intact.
Over the past few years, there has been some interest from Middle Eastern clubs, and Madrid will continue monitoring any developments.
However, for now, Alaba’s mind is made up. He wants to stay and play a role in the club’s future, even if that means fighting through physical challenges.
Whether or not he can return to his pre-injury form remains to be seen, but his commitment to Real Madrid is no longer in question.
