Barcelona’s transfer window could still take an unexpected turn as tension inside the dressing room has added fresh doubt over Fermin Lopez’s future.

Journalist Alfredo Martinez has told Radioestadio Noche that reports about a clash between Fermin and Gavi hold some truth, even though he is unsure if the matter will directly affect Fermin’s decision to stay or leave.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that the two midfielders exchanged heated words and even came close to a physical confrontation.

According to those present, teammates had to step in and separate them before things escalated further.

The exact cause of the fallout is still unclear, but whispers inside the camp suggest friction has been growing between the two youngsters.

Gavi’s reaction and Barcelona’s concerns

One of the more striking claims is that Gavi allegedly requested Fermin be placed on the transfer list after the disagreement.

This rumour quickly spread within the squad and eventually reached Fermin, fuelling speculation about unrest between the pair.

Although the original source of the story has since been removed, Martinez insists that issues between Gavi and Fermin have indeed existed in recent weeks.

The timing of this revelation is crucial, as Fermin is now being strongly linked with a move away from Barcelona, despite having previously shown full commitment to the club.

Chelsea’s lucrative offer

What complicates matters further is Chelsea’s concrete interest. The Premier League side are reportedly ready to offer Fermin around €15 million gross per season, more than double his current €6 million salary at Barcelona.

This financial difference, combined with personal calls from Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, has given the midfielder something to think about.

Until recently, Fermin was fully set on staying and fighting for his place under Hansi Flick. But with dressing room tensions and Chelsea’s tempting proposal, his future is no longer as straightforward.
