The defender isn't among Blues' key assets ahead of their Championship return.
Krystian Bielik's role in the Birmingham City defence is a diminishing one, which could lead him to look at a potential move away from the club.
The early stages of Chris Davies' first season in charge of the Blues involved the Polish defender quite heavily. He featured heavily in the first half of the season but struggled to hold his spot in the starting XI.
In the end, Bielik only managed to start 20 of Birmingham's game last season, and the addition of Phil Neumann suggests that he is set to slip further down the pecking order.
The end of Ben Davies' loan spell from Rangers does provide some extra hope for the 27-year-old of being the first reserve behind Neumann and Christoph Klarer, but City are trying to work on a deal to bring the former Liverpool centre-half back to St Andrew's.
A former Arsenal player, Bielik has plenty of experience at a good level. He's just unfortunately being outgrown by the rapid rise of Birmingham, and that could lead to him looking for minutes elsewhere.
He still has two years left on his current deal. This factor could be critical to any potential departure, as could the club's willingness to let him leave. That's according to Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman, who spoke exclusively to Football League World about the situation Bielik finds himself in.
"I think Krystian Bielik is a good, solid Championship player with a vast amount of experience who is coming into the prime of his career," claimed Goodman.
"But what was noticeable last season was that Chris Davies was starting him week in, week out in the first half of the season, but in the second half of the season, he wasn't getting the starts.
"So at his age, you want to be playing with week in, week out, you want to be getting regular football. So from his perspective, if he feels that the manager doesn't fancy him to be starting games, then he will probably want to move on.
"But from Blues' perspective, they have, in their ranks, as I said, a very experienced player who we know can cut it at Championship level. So it depends on who's in control of whether he stays or goes, really."
A number of teams will be queuing up to try and get Bielik if he does become available. There was a question over whether he would stay with the club following their relegation to League One, but Davies wanted to keep him around.
Now that the Polish international is less important to the boss' plans, you've got to imagine that there will be a number of teams who contact Birmingham and ask whether Bielik may be available.
