Reports linking Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté (25) with a move to Paris Saint-Germain are “completely unfounded”, sources have told Get French Football News.

ESPN reported on Friday that PSG had made a move for Liverpool’s defender a priority for the summer with the report adding that Konaté himself would be tempted by a move to the Parc des Princes. It would entail a return to the French capital for the former RB Leipzig defender, who is a product of Paris FC’s academy.

A regular for club and country, Konaté’s contract with the Merseyside club extends in the summer of 2026 and so, with less than 18 months left on his current deal, efforts are being made to secure the Frenchman’s future. It is within this context that reports of a move to PSG have emerged. However, Get French Football News understands that – as things stand – these reports are completely unfounded.
