Former Roma attacker Diego Perotti discussed Daniele De Rossi’s return to the capital club.
In a recent interview with Radio Manà Manà, Perotti – who shared the dressing room with De Rossi between 2016 and 2019 – spoke about Roma’s current situation.
“Roma need player with a style similar to mine, beyond what I did, but with the ability to dribble past the opponent and create superiority is useful for all teams, not just Roma.”
“De Rossi? As a footballer, Daniele’s soul as a coach could already be felt. Having lived inside the dressing room helps you, even if being a coach is complicated, especially in light of Mourinho’s departure. From what I’ve seen, however, he seems very capable because he has personality, for me he will do very well and I obviously wish him all the best.”
“If I had someone like Daniele as a coach it would be easier for me, because I would start to look at him as a teammate at the same level. It is more complicated for the coach to start making you feel and impose yourself in a different way, both on the positive and negative side. But I am sure that he will be very good at understanding the moments, when to approach or stay away from his players. I don’t know the staff, but I imagine he chose people as competent as him. You have to be good especially at the beginning, then with time and matches everything becomes easier.”
