Midfielder Piotr Zielinski and goalkeeper Josep Martinez could make their debuts for Inter Milan in Serie A against Monza.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They anticipate that September will be a big month for the integration of Inter’s summer signings.

Inter have played three matches so far in Serie A

And to date, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has largely relied on key players from last season.

Inter made a total of four summer signings, including young defender Tomas Palacios who arrived on deadline day.

And of the four, only one has so far taken to the pitch in Serie A for the Nerazzurri.

Piotr Zielinski & Josep Martinez Could Make Inter Debuts Vs Monza

Striker Mehdi Taremi has appeared in all three of Inter’s Serie A matches so far.

The Iranian actually started the Nerazzurri’s second match of the season, against Lecce. This was due to captain Lautaro Martinez being out with injury.

Taremi also had an impactful cameo against Genoa in Inter’s season opener, and appeared from the bench against Atalanta.

Midfielder Zielinski and goalkeeper Martinez, however, have yet to feature.

According to Tuttosport, though, that pair’s time has certainly come.

After returning from the international break, Inter will have to play four Serie A matches, plus encounters with Manchester City and Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

This gruelling schedule will mean that Inzaghi must really start to rotate.

Therefore, Zielinski will soon get his chance. The Pole could even replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the starting eleven against Monza in Inter’s first match back from the break, Tuttosport predicts.

Meanwhile, it should not be too long before keeper Martinez gets a start.

Inter signed the Spaniard from Genoa over the summer to be the long-term heir to Yann Sommer in goal.

Sommer is still the first-choice starter. But Martinez will certainly get his chances, also to give Sommer an occasional break.

According to Tuttosport Martinez could start against Monza, to keep Sommer fresh for the Champions League opener away to Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Taremi will also certainly get more playing time in Inter’s busy September.

On the other hand, Tuttosport anticipate, defender Palacios will likely not feature much. The Argentine will have a period of settling in instead.
