Defender Benjamin Pavard will miss several of the Inter Milan upcoming fixtures, including their next Serie A match against Fiorentina, as tests confirm he’s suffered a thigh strain.
The Nerazzurri confirmed the injury to the France international. He will undergo further medical tests next week.
There was one sour note to Inter’s Champions League win over RB Leipzig earlier this week.
That was an injury to defender Pavard.
The 29-year-old former Bayern Munich defender started Tuesday’s European outing. He played almost the entirety of the first half.
However, Pavard pulled up late in the half with discomfort in his left leg. This forced him off, with Yann Bisseck coming on as a substitute for the rest of the match.
This morning, Pavard underwent tests on his injury with Inter’s medical staff.
These tests confirmed that the Frenchman has suffered a thigh strain. Specifically, a strain to the biceps femoris muscles in his left hamstring.
There is no doubt that this will cause Pavard to miss Inter’s next match. He could miss up to the next five Inter Milan matches.
The Nerazzurri face Fiorentina in Serie A on Saturday.
Then, Pavard’s availability for the following weekend’s league match against Parma is also in doubt. Pavard will undergo further tests next week.
