After several years of endless transfer speculation, Real Madrid’s announcement of Kylian Mbappe is only a matter of days or weeks.
The Merengues are set to officially present him as a Madrid player after the UEFA Champions League final and before the Euros begin in Germany.
Despite some hurdles with the date for his presentation, Mbappe is similarly keen on the transfer materializing in the initial weeks of June.
However, recently there has been some subject of debate regarding the Frenchman’s participation in the Olympics later this summer.
Madrid are hell-bent on not making any exceptions and are unwilling to allow Mbappe to join the Olympics, with their focus being on the pre-season tour in America.
Now, Mbappe has come out to shed light on the situation, with a rather coy response to the rumours.
“Everyone knows what I want to do. I think we need to let things happen. I’ll be happy no matter what decision is made. Olympics in Paris is special,” Mbappe claimed (h/t Madrid Zone).

“When I know more, I’ll talk. But right now, I have no idea. It’s not up to me. When I’m sent a message, I’ll be there to receive it.”
While Mbappe would probably prefer to represent his national team colours in the Olympics, the tournament is typically used to provide younger players a platform.
And Real Madrid intend to have the 2018 World Cup winner present in their ranks immediately after the Euros concludes.
The team is optimistic that the players will follow through on their commitments and travel to preseason training in August.
Mbappe’s comments also showcase he will comply with the Real Madrid hierarchy’s ultimate decision.
