Here are the seven other players to register four assists in a single Premier League fixture.

Every player to assist four goals in a Premier League game:

Dennis Bergkamp – Arsenal v Leicester City, 20 February 1999

One of the greatest players in Premier League history, the brilliant Bergkamp was a trailblazing import into the English game, providing several moments of genius and becoming a key figure in Arsenal‘s greatest successes either side of the millennium.

The ‘Non-Flying Dutchman’ won a PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year double after helping Arsene Wenger’s side to a domestic double in 1998, before his creative talents saw him become the first player in the league’s history to register four assists in a single game the following season.

Leicester City, who had witnessed Bergkamp’s sublime talents after being on the receiving end of an incredible hat-trick two years prior, once again proved to be the victims in a destructive display, Bergkamp providing four assists as a treble from Nicolas Anelka and a Ray Parlour brace secured a 5-0 victory over the Foxes at Highbury.

Jose Antonio Reyes – Arsenal v Middlesbrough, 14 January 2006

Jose Antonio Reyes arrived at Arsenal in a club-record transfer from Sevilla mid-way through the club’s famed ‘Invincible’ season in 2004, sealing the Premier League title and establishing himself as an important figure in Arsene Wenger’s squad.

The Spaniard perhaps failed to reach the potential many expected of him during a three-year spell in north London, though he provided fleeting moments of brilliance, including providing four assists in a seven-goal thrashing of Middlesbrough in 2006.

Despite failing to get on the scoresheet himself, the winger was the creator-in-chief on a dismal visit to the capital for the North East side, Thierry Henry helping himself to a hat-trick in a comprehensive victory.

Cesc Fabregas – Arsenal v Blackburn Rovers, 4 October 2009

The third Arsenal player to feature and one of the Premier League’s most prolific goal providers, Fabregas joined this exclusive list courtesy of a virtuoso display against Blackburn in October 2009, scoring once and providing four assists as Sam Allardyce’s side were put to the sword at the Emirates.

Fabregas played a major part in the 6-2 victory and finished the season behind only Frank Lampard for assists with 13, part of a tally of 111 over spells with the Gunners and Chelsea.

The Spaniard’s haul is bettered by only Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs in the history of the Premier League, whilst his assists-per-game ranks behind only Kevin De Bruyne amongst the top 10.

Emmanuel Adebayor – Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United, 11 February 2012

A player not known for his assists, Adebayor equalled the divisional record after creating four goals for Tottenham in their 5-0 victory over Newcastle at White Hart Lane in February 2012, scoring the other in the process.

The Togolese international played a key role for Harry Redknapp’s side during that campaign, scoring 17 Premier League goals as the north London outfit secured a top-four finish and Champions League qualification.

Adebayor also finished the season with 11 assists, behind only David Silva, Juan Mata and Antonio Valencia in a productive season for the forward.

Santi Cazorla – Arsenal v Wigan Athletic, 14 May 2013

What is it with Arsenal and prolific assist providers?

Santi Cazorla became a huge fan’s favourite during a six-year spell in north London, the diminutive playmaker often the heartbeat of the Gunners’ best displays when at the peak of his powers.

A fine passer and set-piece taker with either foot, Cazorla joined this list of players after providing four goals in a 4-1 victory against Wigan, on the penultimate league fixture of a dazzling debut season at the club.

The Spaniard’s performances saw him named as Arsenal’s Player of the Season and whilst career-threatening ankle injuries blighted his latter years, the 35-year-old enjoyed a renaissance in his third spell at Villarreal before joining Qatar outfit Al Sadd.

Harry Kane – Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur, 20th September 2020

Harry Kane became the sixth player to provide four assists in a single Premier League fixture last season, the forward in fine form during Spurs’ convincing 5-2 win at Southampton.

Kane’s first came via a perfect first-time pass to release Son Heung-Min in behind the Saints’ defence, the host’s high-line proving costly throughout a dominant afternoon for the north London side.

Son was on the scoresheet once more after Kane’s clever turn and ball round the corner put the South Korean through on goal, before he raced away to complete a hat-trick following a delightful clipped pass into his path.

Kane’s fourth assist and Son’s fourth goal came after a whipped delivery from the right flank, the duo dovetailing to perfection as Spurs’ season got up and running with three points on the South Coast.

Kane finished the season with 14 assists in the Premier League to win the Playmaker Award, alongside winning a third Golden Boot accolade.

Paul Pogba – Man Utd v Leeds, 14th August 2021

Paul Pogba produced a brilliant performance on the opening weekend of the season to join this exclusive list of goal providers, registering four assists as Manchester United ran riot against their northern rivals.

Pogba’s passing proved problematic for Leeds throughout as the France international cut open the visitor’s defence on repeated occasions, with Bruno Fernandes the main beneficiary after scoring a clinical hat-trick.

Operating on the left-hand side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, the 28-year-old was granted a freedom to drift infield as the Red Devils’ attacking options combined brilliantly at Old Trafford.

Somewhat incredibly, Pogba’s four assists mean he has bettered his entire haul from last season after just one fixture of the new Premier League campaign.

Jeremy Doku – Man City vs Bournemouth, 4th November 2023

Bournemouth were no match for Manchester City on this particular Saturday – or, perhaps more appropriately, they were no match for Jeremy Doku, who was unstoppable.

The 21-year-old broke new ground in the Premier League thanks to his goal and four assists, becoming both the youngest player in the league’s history with five goal involvements in a single game, as well as the youngest player to assist four goals. Incredible.

It’s remarkable that Doku is the first Man City player to complete such a feat in the top flight, given the creative geniuses that have represented the club over the past decade.
