She has a huge amount of experience with 178 caps for her country, as well as seven very successful seasons with Chelsea up until 2024.

Mjelde told evertontv: “I am always hungry for more, I love playing football and am happy to continue my journey here at Everton,”

“Hopefully I can contribute. If it is with goals or just the player I am, I want to do the best for the team to make Everton better and progress – that is why I am here.”

“It is the best league in the world, it is so competitive and is getting better and better. I am really excited to be back in this league and to get going. I am ready.

Manager Brian Sorensen told evertonfc.com: “Maren is a player who demands respect. She is a leader on and off the field and possesses invaluable experience. She is versatile and adds depth to our backline and midfield.

“Maren knows the Women’s Super League well and knows what it takes to win games in this division. She is a role model who will help the younger players in our squad. We are delighted to have her on board.”
