Everton are preparing for a decisive final week of the transfer window as negotiations intensify over player movements. Sevilla have expressed interest in taking Scotland international Nathan Patterson on loan. According to the Liverpool Echo, “Sevilla are working on a deal to loan the Scotland international though David Moyes would need to be content with his squad to sanction departures.”
The right back is nearing a return to fitness following a frustrating spell on the sidelines due to a hernia concern. Patterson had featured during early pre-season fixtures before his setback. Any move, however, hinges on Moyes being confident in his options, particularly as injuries elsewhere have stretched the squad.
One incoming transfer appears to be close. Southampton teenager Tyler Dibling is expected to undergo a medical after Everton’s £40m package for the England youth international was accepted following weeks of negotiations. The Echo noted that “Everton had three bids rejected for the teenage attacking midfield and signalled an intention to walk away from talks after the final offer, a package worth around £37.5m, was turned down earlier this month.”

Persistence has paid off, and Dibling’s arrival will inject attacking flair into the side. Moyes has made clear his desire for quality additions rather than panic buys, reinforcing the view that Everton’s business is far from done.
Further departures may follow if reinforcements arrive. Patterson’s potential loan to Sevilla reflects Everton’s strategy of providing game time for players struggling for minutes. Youssef Chermiti also faces an uncertain future, with reports suggesting he is exploring options for more first team football. Championship clubs are monitoring Harrison Armstrong after his impressive spell at Derby County, while Tim Iroegbunam, a regular starter so far, remains of interest to Sheffield United.
Moyes has been vocal about maintaining balance within his squad. Injuries to Vitalii Mykolenko and Jarrad Branthwaite have increased the urgency for defensive cover. The manager is wary of compromising on quality, insisting that settling for lesser targets would be a step back.
Everton’s recruitment drive comes against the backdrop of their determination to build momentum after a challenging start to the season. “Further business is desired by the Everton hierarchy, with right back and central midfield considered key areas,” the Liverpool Echo reported. Fans will be hoping that Moyes can deliver the right blend of experience and youth to steer the club forward.

What happens in the next few days could define Everton’s campaign. New signings could provide the depth required to push higher up the table, while smart loan decisions might help promising players develop away from the pressure of Goodison Park.
For Everton fans, this report highlights both excitement and caution. The Tyler Dibling deal feels like a statement signing, one that underlines ambition after several years of uncertainty. Spending £40m on an 18-year-old attacking midfielder carries risk, but it signals intent and suggests Moyes is shaping a squad with creativity at its heart.
The Patterson situation is trickier. Fans admire his commitment but acknowledge injuries have stalled his impact. A loan to Sevilla could benefit all parties, yet some supporters worry about depth if injuries persist. The last thing Everton need is to weaken defensively when already light on options.
Overall, the sense is that the club is finally adopting a measured transfer strategy. Rather than scrambling for late-window deals, there appears to be a plan: secure top targets like Dibling, then make calculated decisions on loans. If Moyes lands his remaining priorities, optimism will return to Goodison. However, failure to reinforce adequately could leave Everton vulnerable in a relentless Premier League season.
