According to kicker, Everton and Fulham are showing interest in Bayer Leverkusen target Joël Matip.

It has previously been reported that the German champions are considering signing the former Liverpool defender, who is a free agent this summer, after deciding not to extend his contract with the Reds.

With Jonathan Tah’s move to Bayern Munich looking more likely, it is expected that Die Werkself will target the 32-year-old centre-back after failing to convince Mats Hummels to move to the BayArena this summer.

Nevertheless, as stated in the report, they could face competition from Everton and Fulham, who also have Matip on their transfer shortlist.

Regardless, it is understood that the former Liverpool defender is not interested in moving to another Premier League club after enjoying a successful stint at Anfield.

Therefore, should Leverkusen give Matip the green light for a deal to go ahead, it is expected that they will be able to get the deal over the line without any issues.
