Congratulations to Ange Postecoglou who last night led Tottenham to Europa league glory against Manchester United in Bilbao. The former Celtic manager boldly predicted that he always wins a trophy in his second season and he was true to his word as he stuck two fingers up to the arrogant English media pack as he led the North London club to their first honour in 17 years.

As much as we were delighted for the Aussie the irony wasn’t lost on the Celtic supporters that his Spurs side prevailed after what can only be described as the proverbial backs to the wall performance. Yes, Ange parked the bus!
It was the most unlikely team performance from any Ange Postecoglou side and for most of the second period Spurs tactics consisted of repeatedly hoofing the ball up the park and defending for dear life whilst indulging in some time wasting.
Ange’s famous mantra – We Never Stop – took a backseat for the night and Celtic supporters were all saying the same thing, and that would be where was that sort of tactical set-up when Ange led us in Europe?
So many times we were exposed at the top level through our all out approach to the game and we can only wonder what if. Anyway congratulations Ange you throughly deserve your success, although the same can’t really be said for the Tottenham support who didn’t seem to want to sign OUR Ange Postecoglou song that the pinched and used to relish singing.
Manchester United were awful indeed so were Tottenham, even the winning goal was no contender for goal of the season, it was low-level football so different to what we’ve watched in the Champions League this season in so many games. The PSG v Inter final will show the contrast between the two competitions and the gulf in class.

Will Ange stay at Tottenham? We’ll find out shortly but he won’t be short of work elsewhere. Having achieved his target of winning a trophy in his second season he might decide to tell them all to do one before walking into a better job. Or he might stay and try to build a team ready for Champions League, the money that win made Spurs last night is astonishing as it what the get from it next season not this one that matters.
Well done Ange, at least the Celtic supporters were all behind you all the way to your GIRUY glory in Bilbao, after parking the bus (LOL).
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
This is what it’s all about ❤️ Couldn’t be happier for Ange Postecoglou, the coach and the person.–
