Euro 2025 (F): Italy off to a strong start

Italy made a confident start to their Euro 2025 campaign. The Azzurre edged Belgium 1-0 on Thursday at the Stade de Tourbillon in Sion, Switzerland, in their opening Group B match.

The only goal of the game came from Arianna Caruso, the hero of the day. Just before half-time (44th minute), the Italian midfielder collected the ball inside the box, swiftly turned, and fired a precise shot past the Belgian goalkeeper at the near post.

Belgium, well-organized throughout, never managed to find an equalizer despite chances at both ends. Defensively solid, the Italians held on to their lead until the final whistle. It’s a promising start for Italy in this group stage, while Belgium will need to respond quickly.
