Eric Dier is poised to become a Bayern Munich player after arriving in the city for a medical on Thursday.

The England international defender was interviewed at the airport by Sky Germany, where he described Bayern as an “amazing club”.

Dier is set to link up with his former Spurs and England team-mate Harry Kane at the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel was asked about the impending transfer in his weekly press conference and confirmed his side were hoping to land the former England international.

“He’s here in the city and we’re trying to finalize a move to have him as another option at centre-back,” Tuchel said.

“We’ll wait until everything is done because from experience I know that everything can still fall through at the last minute”

Dier’s arrival is good news for the Bavarian side’s coach, especially after they appear to have been beaten to the signature of Genoa defender Radu Drăgușin by Spurs this week.
