Enzo Maresca has just taken his press conference following Chelsea’s win over Southampton, and as you’d expect the manager was in good spirits.
There were lots of away fans signing his name through the second half and at full time as the manager took his players over to recognise the support.
“It was a very good feeling. You can see they are happy, that is our target, we work every day to keep them happy. Tonight was a very good feeling. They can see Chelsea is back and this is an important thing,” the coach said.
“I think it’s a good feeling, not only for the owners but for the players, club and the fans. A good feeling for all of us. The results, for sure, help us a lot to calm down noise around the club. It’s a good feeling to see the fans happy,” he concluded.
It shows the changing emotions at Chelsea as frustration makes way for happiness among the fanbase, who got to watch their team batter Southampton and keep up their great form.

Another hot topic tonight was the goalkeeper battle. Filip Jorgensen played really well in the Europa League last week, then got his first Premier League start tonight, leading to questions about whether he might start on Sunday. But Maresca, who has publicly backed Sanchez time and again, didn’t really want to deal with that debate tonight.
He made it very clear that he wasn’t here to debate who played in goal:
“We will play Sanchez and 10 players [on Sunday]. That is the only thing for sure.”
Well, that’s that settled then. We understand his frustration, and why he’s keen to back his man and give Sanchez confidence.
