As a Chelsea fan it’s great to finally be writing about the team after a win rather than a defeat or a draw, which has become the norm of late.
But Chelsea beat Brighton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last night to progress into the fourth round of the League Cup, a competition that they will really be starting to fancy a shot of winning this season now after seeing the next round draw.
Chelsea are home to Blackburn and really, the draw is looking like it could be a good run to the final for Chelsea, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.
Mauricio Pochettino bought Marc Cucurella back in for a start last night and he had to play as a right back due to injuries and suspensions. The Spaniard was like a little Jack Russel dog all game snapping at the heels of the Brighton players, and he actually had a good game.
So much so that Enzo Fernandez described him as ‘an animal’ in response to his Instagram post last night, as reported by The Chelsea Chronicle.
