Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has hit back at the abuse he has received on social media this season, saying “enough is enough”.

Rashford has endured a disappointing campaign for the most part, scoring just eight goals in 40 appearances for United so far, and in January the England forward was heavily criticised for reportedly being photographed in a Belfast nightclub the night before missing training due to illness.

The 26-year-old was not in the squad due to injury as Erik ten Hag’s side came from behind to beat Sheffield United on Wednesday evening and following the match, X account @UtdParadigm wrote the following in support of the player.

In the early hours of Friday morning, Rashford then responded from his own account, expressing gratitude for the support and calling for an end to the “abuse” he has received.

United are next in action when they host Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday, and manager Ten Hag will likely offer an update on Rashford’s fitness in his Friday press conference.
