The SWPL1 Champions will be without Tash Flint whose loan spell ended and the Goal Machine has now headed to Florida to play her football at Tampa Bay Sun FC.  Chinese stars Shen Mengyu Shen Menglu have also moved on from Celtic this summer, with both players having contributed significantly to Celtic’s trophy haul recent years. Shannon McGregor – she’s like me you, she loves Celtic too!

In terms of new arrivals Elena Sadiku has already made five signings, Shannon McGregor, who The Celtic Star spoke to earlier this week, joins from Hibs on a three year contract. McGregor is an offensive midfielder who can play as an 8 or a 10 and is also a lifelong Celtic supporter. She’s like me and you, she loves Celtic too!

New Celtic signing, 18-year-old defender Amy Richardson, gets her first look at Paradise

Amy Richardson has arrived from Everton on a three-year contract with the wingback already well known to the Celtic FC Women manager. And Celtic have also completed the double signing of Danish twins Signe and Mathilde Carsten’s from Danish side Fortuna Hjørring.  The 22 year old sisters joined Celtic on a two-year contract, amid considerable interest from around Europe for the twins.

And the fifth new arrival at Celtic is experienced Portuguese defender Bruna Lourenço from Sporting CP. Bruna has had eight seasons playing for Sporting where she has won two league titles, and achieving three cup wins alongside two Super Cup successes. The new Celtic signing, who also captain at Sporting on a number of occasions, has signed a two year deal at Celtic.

What is noticeable about the Celtic signing policy this summer is that the length of player contracts is longer with either two or three year deals being agreed, rather than the rolling one year deals of the recent past under Fran Alonso.

The Celtic FC Women signings should continue, with Elena no doubt in the market for a goalscorer and perhaps another winger and hopefully these all arrive in time to make the trip to Sweden on Monday 1st July.
