Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are leading the way when it comes to the pursuit of Hoffenheim midfielder Tom Bischof.
The 19-year-old’s contract in Sinsheim expires in the summer and several teams are pursuing the midfielder. Frankfurt are joined by Bayern Munich, who were previously leading the race, as well as a host of other Bundesliga clubs and Juventus.
Bayern were leading the way, but things have now changed. It was previously reported that Die Rekordmeister would sign Bischof on a free then send him out on loan next season. Compared to Frankfurt who sees Bischof as the immediate successor to Mario Götze and would get playing time from the start of his time at Deutsche Bank Park.
On top of this, Frankfurt has been in constant contact with the player and his agent. Frankfurt’s new director of football, Pirmin Schwegler also plays a role as he previously worked at Hoffenheim with Bischof at the club.
It cannot be ruled out that a decision will be made soon enough that Bischof could even leave this month so Hoffenheim would at least receive a fee for the Fritz Walter Gold Medal winner.
