Sport Bild reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are set to receive €5m for Norwegian international Jens Petter Hauge.
The 25-year-old departs German football having scored two goals in 36 Bundesliga appearances – SGE once paid a reported €8-10m to acquire Hauge permanently from AC Milan.
Hauge recently (and surprisingly) returned from a loan stint with his old academy side despite reports that the Norwegian club pulled the trigger on a €5.5m agreed upon purchase option. Eintracht chief sporting executive Markus Krösche let it be known that Glimt were attempting to negotiate a smaller transfer fee.
The apparent breakthrough in negotiations closes the chapter of a Bundesliga player whose potential never lay in question. Disciplinary issues both at his German football club and during a loan stint in Belgium nevertheless left the 2021/22 Europa League winner without much of a future in the RheinMain metropolis.
Hauge managed to revamp his career in his native country, pumping up his estimated market worth up from a career low of €2.5m back up to €4.5m. Hauge was once appraised a €10m player during his playing days in Italy’s Serie A.
