Dutch forward Memphis Depay has a new home following Atlético Madrid departure | OneFootball

It’s been a long few weeks for Dutch forward Memphis Depay. The transfer window came and went but the 30-year-old still hadn’t found a new club despite being a free agent.

That has all changed, as the forward has finally found his new home, with a move to South America leaving fans excited over what the former Atlético Madrid man can do.

The club in question is Corinthians, from São Paulo in Brazil, who announced the move on Monday night through their club website.

This proves an interesting move for the striker who, until now hasn’t played outside of Europe and who at 30, still potentially has the ability to play some of his best football.

Memphis has been without a club since parting ways with Atlético Madrid in May and hasn’t played any football since lining up for the Netherlands at Euro 2024 in the summer.

The striker will be glad to finally secure a move to end his time spent as a free agent looking for a new club and finally meet his new teammates.

Memphis can now begin to focus on the remainder of the Brazilian Serie A campaign, where Corinthians are currently in the relegation zone, and have until the League’s finale in December to right the ship.
