WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Wildcats this afternoon.
The 24-year-old stopper joins Durham off the back of a two-year spell playing her football in the Portuguese Liga BPI with Sporting Lisbon. Sheppard has provided some strong competition for the first-choice goalkeeping jersey in her time at the club. Prior to her spell with The Lions, Sheppard spent time in the American college system with New Hampshire Wildcats while she has also represented Portuguese club Clube de Albergaria.
Sheppard is a talented young goalkeeper who is building some great experience in the game and she will now test herself in Barclays WSL2 with Durham this season.
After sealing her move to Maiden Castle, Sheppard said “It’s been great, the team’s been really welcoming and the culture seems great.
“I understand the game well, I’m an over-communicator, I’m a gritty player and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep the ball out the back of the net.”
Sheppard is Durham’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The Wildcats have also added Grace Ede, Amber-Keegan Stobbs and Angela Addison to their squad so far this summer.
