New Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz has sent a message to his new fans wearing a Bianconeri shirt for the first time and thanked ‘everyone’ at Aston Villa.

Juventus confirmed Douglas Luiz’s purchase on a €50m deal from Aston Villa on Sunday, but half of that fee will be covered by the sales of Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior, who will soon be announced by the Premier League side.

Douglas Luiz, who is currently in the USA to play in the Copa America with Brazil, sent the first message to Juventus fans through his official Instagram account, wearing the new Juventus training kit for the first time.

He posted a second video featuring his best goals at Aston Villa and some of the best spots in Turin and the Allianz Stadium, his new homes.

This second video came with a message for Aston Villa and their fans.

“The time has come to say see you soon, Villa Park,” wrote the Brazil international.

“I want to start by thanking everyone (club, players, fans and staff) this was a place where I felt at home, you fans made an impact on my career and will never be forgotten by me, I will miss you!

“I hope I made you very proud, you can be sure that I always tried to give my best version, as a player and as a human being. It was 5 years of many joys, celebrations, struggles, learning, games, fun and many other things.

“Now I will continue my life at another club, but my fans and passion for you will never fade, thank you for everything.”
