On Thursday, the German Football League announced the dates and kick-off times for the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga until the end of January.

Borussia Dortmund, who are currently going through an injury crisis, are unhappy with the schedule as they will play both the last Bundesliga game in 2024 (against Wolfsburg on December 22) and the first in 2025 (against Leverkusen on January 10).

This will leave the Black and Yellows with a winter break of just 19 days - the shortest of any team in the Bundesliga.

"It's hard for us to accept that we have the shortest winter break of all Bundesliga clubs," Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl told Bild.

“Scheduling the game in Wolfsburg for the latest kick-off time of the matchday and then starting the new year against Leverkusen on Friday makes our break even shorter.”
