Today, Gianluigi Donnarumma has spoken about the path Francesco Camarda has ahead of him, and he was full of praise for the AC Milan starlet.
Donnarumma was the last comparable player to Camarda, a young player deemed the future of his position for Milan and Italy, and whilst the goalkeeper departed, he has effectively fulfilled that destiny, albeit for his new club.
It is a career path that the striker will hopefully not follow, given the fans have still not forgiven the goalkeeper. However, chances of this seem unlikely, with the youngster being so Rossoneri-oriented. Nevertheless, he still has a way to go before he is consistently in the Diavolo’s squad, let alone starting eleven.
This is not a worry for Milan, though, and their plan is to ease his move into the senior team, given his destiny lies there, and the summer recruitment proved this. Speaking to Sport Mediaset, Donnarumma spoke about Camarda’s future, and his words have been relayed by Milan News 24.
“I met Francesco this year when we played a friendly in Empoli, before the European Championship. My first impression is that he’s a great guy, as a person I saw him as very humble, he’s really a nice guy.
“I hope he can do really well, especially at AC Milan he can give a lot. It’s important to keep his feet on the ground, but that’s no problem because I’ve seen that he’s a very balanced boy. He has to grow and he also has to make his mistakes, leave him calm and I’m sure he’ll go far.”
