Kumbulla spent last season on loan at Espanyol and they were one of the candidates to make it more permanent, along with interest from Sevilla and Deportivo Alaves.

Roma bought the Albania international from Hellas Verona in 2020, for a total fee of €29.5m plus bonuses.

He had gone on a previous loan to Sassuolo too for six months in 2024.

The defender leaves the Giallorossi after 68 competitive appearances, where he also managed to score four goals.

Although he has always played his international football for Albania, he was born and raised in Italy.
