Southampton is facing the frightening scenario of missing out on acquiring Danny Rohl due to Leicester City's willingness.
Since the end of the last decade, Southampton's head-to-head records have always worsened against any opponent. Still, the ones who have delivered countless misery on the Saints are Leicester City.
Most notably, the 9-0 Premier League humiliation is an unforgettable mention among the multiple losing streaks suffered against the Foxes here and there. And that lacklustre run could increase further given they are also assured of tasting another Championship adventure.
Up until now, Leicester City used to enjoy the on-field upper hand on the Saints but that is about to get much worse for Southampton on the transfer front.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Leicester City are plotting a shrewd Danny Rohl capture despite Southampton's evergreen interest.
Now, Southampton are known for being the latecomers in adding players but a different transfer window was meant to benefit them in some way. Instead, they are set to lose ground on a must-have managerial recruit that can disrupt their future squad upgrades.
Agreed, Liam Rosenior is still an attainable target but accepting transfer defeats without even making a full effort is outright awful. That too, getting overtaken by direct competitors is both frustrating as well as a shambolic failure.
Regarding Danny Rohl, he hasn't made any joining agreements with any team which is Southampton's most considerable relief. But stances change quickly in the transfer market and Rohl may not be far off from giving his nod to Leicester City's project at the expense of Southampton.
