Jeremy Doku says the winning mentality City have had for so many years will help the team through what has been a difficult few months.

The Blues travel to Leicester City on Sunday looking to end 2024 with a victory and kickstart our season after a run of one win in 13 games in all competitions.

Doku admits the poor run has been a struggle to deal with for the players, mostly because they are used to winning matches.

“We are winners, so we don’t like to lose,” said Doku.

“It is a difficult situation for us, but we have to keep on going.

“The season is far from finished and there are still a lot of things that we can achieve and do.

“Now is the time to look for solutions for how we can solve this. We just need to be the best we can be.”

Doku says if anyone can solve a poor run of form, it is Pep Guardiola.

The Belgian believes the City boss is constantly trying to find the right formula to spark his players back to their best – and Doku says it is just a matter of time before the Blues return to winning ways.

“Obviously he is the best coach I have ever worked with, and he is the best coach in the world. Pep has a lot of ideas, and he is creative,” he says.

“He is someone who always has a solution for everything and that is why I have no doubt that Pep, especially in this situation, will come up with something and an idea that will help us out and we will be back.

“He is a great coach to work with.”

Doku also revealed what the Catalan boss has helped him with since joining the Club in August 2023.

“I think positionally, understanding the game [better],” he said.

“I think he is not someone that just wants you to play and do what you are used to doing. He wants you to understand why and be able to play different positions to what you are used to so you can help the team.

“It is an education. He wants you to learn and I think I have learnt a lot since I arrived last year.

“I have learnt a bit from everyone. I look a lot at the players that play in my position like Jack, Phil and Bernardo. I try to look at them and see what they are doing, what I can take from it and what I can learn from it.

“I have wonderful teammates and everyday training with them is a privilege.”
