DFB Pokal champions Stuttgart start their preparation with a 7-1 victory over SV Fellbach. 18-year-old winger Lazar Jovanovic, who joined the club this week, scored in his unofficial debut.

Like Augsburg managed earlier today, Union Berlin scored nine goals in a 9-1 victory against Brandenburger SC. Andrej Ilić, whose transfer from Lille now turn permanent, scored four first-half goals.

Under new coach, Bremen started their preparation with a 6-0 win against FC Verden 04. Back from an underwhelming loan spell, former Manchester United prospect Isak Hansen-Aarøen scored one of the goals. 18-year-old Croatian midfielder Patrice Covic netted twice.

St.Pauli had a poor end to the 2024-25 season, and they lost their first friendly game of this campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Regionalliga Nord side Drochtersen/Assel. They’re not the only team from Hamburg to lose a friendly today, however.

Hamburg lost 1-0 to Superliga giants Copenhagen in a high-profile game. Former Schalke player Jordan Larsson scored the winner. Hamburg already played two friendlies before tonight’s fixture in Copenhagen.

TSG Hoffenheim also had a difficult first test in their 3-2 victory over SGV Freiberg. Muhammed Damar, who nearly helped Elversberg to a stunning promotion, scored on his return to Hoffenheim.
