Pep Guardiola will wait to see how Kevin De Bruyne is in training ahead of Manchester City’s final Premier League game of the season against West Ham.

City need a victory over the Hammers to guarantee top spot to make history as the first men’s team ever to win four titles in the row.

Ederson has been ruled out after tests revealed he had suffered a fractured eye socket in our 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening that took us two points clear going into final league game at 16:00 (UK) at the Etihad.

Ederson will also miss the FA Cup final against Manchester United on 25 May with Stefan Ortega Moreno set to start.

He replaced Ederson in the 69th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and earned the player of the match award after a number of excellent saves, including a sensational stop to deny Son Heung-Min a late equaliser.

Kevin De Bruyne received treatment in the win at Spurs after being caught on the ankle and was later replaced.

“We will see today,” Guardiola said at his prematch news conference. “Yesterday he was off and today will train.”

City could still claim the title if Arsenal fail to beat Everton in their final game at the Etihad Stadium but Guardiola says that we have to make sure of three points.

But the boss is expecting a tough game and predicts another nail-biter similar to our final day title winners at the Etihad against QPR in 2012 and Aston Villa two years ago.

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Rodrigo turned around a 2-0 deficit with only 20 minutes remaining and Guardiola says the memory of that game is still fresh in the mind of many of the squad.

And he will remind the players that the hard work is not yet done in the final training sessions before Sunday.

“The fact they live it not too long ago some players are still here they felt it,” he added.

“The locker room reaction at Spurs [was a] feeling of go. They were relieved but they were not extra celebrations or something.

“They were happy. More than another game in the Premier League they give us the chance in last game.

“[But we have] a lot of work to do. I will show them and they will feel it. A lot of work to do.”
