The Kevin De Bruyne farewell tour at Manchester City rolls on this evening after the mercurial Belgian star bagged the opener against visiting Wolves at the Etihad.
As reality sets in that the 33-year-old will not be in Man City blue after the conclusion of the 2024/25 Premier League season, it offers a reminder of just what the club will be missing without his presence in the centre of the park.
Now sitting on 108 goals and 170 assists across 418 appearances in all competitions, KDB's ability to consistently be the difference maker since arriving from Wolfsburg in 2015 will be incredibly difficult to replace, and his goal today, during City's late-season push to guarantee qualification into the Champions League next term, stands as a testament to that.
Combining with compatriot Jérémy Doku for the only goal of the game before the halftime interval, it may have only been his fourth goal of the season across a campaign that has shown his age at times, he rises when others fall.
Man City will genuinely miss him.
