Carragher believes Darwin Nunez should be fined for needless foul

Despite an encouraging night at Anfield, Jamie Carragher believes Darwin Nunez should be held accountable for a needless action he made.

The Uruguayan hacked into former Liverpool player Danny Ings despite the West Ham man posing no threat to The Reds as he was seemingly heading nowhere with the ball.

Carragher, who was on commentary duty for Sky Sports, expressed his fury at Nunez' decision that fortunately came to no avail but should West Ham have scored, questions would have been asked of Nunez.

"Yeah, I mean we’ve already seen one at the other end but Nunez there….honestly. It’s the one thing in football I’ll never be able to get my head around when I see someone just run straight into the back of someone, going absolutely nowhere.

“I think there should be a fine for that, honestly I do. If I was a manager I would fine players for that," Carragher said.
