Manchester United will be in the market for a new left-back when the transfer window opens.
It will depend on how much is available in the transfer kitty, but United may try to bolster their squad with a new left-back in January or wait until the summer.
The Reds have had problems at left-back since last season as Luke Shaw is unable to stay fit and continues to suffer from setbacks. However, he is back training and could be available for selection soon.
Tyrell Malacia is in a similar boat after a long recovery from a knee injury. He hasn’t played for the first-team since the final day of the 2022/23 season but is aiming to mark his return after featuring for the youths in a EFL Trophy defeat to Huddersfield Town.
As a result, United have been linked with several left-backs.
The Mirror has previously reported that United have drawn up a list of three targets as they look to solve their problems at left-back. They include David Hancko of Feyenoord, former Chelsea ace Marcos Alonso and Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell.

Crystal Palace have suffered this season after losing talented players in the summer. Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich, and Joachim Anderson signed for Fulham.
The next talent to leave Selhurst Park could be Mitchell, who has now emerged as a target for Turkish giants Galatasaray ahead of the January transfer window.
Mitchell has appeared in all 11 of the Eagles’ league matches this season, as well as three appearances in the Carabao Cup.
It’s never easy to leave a club you’ve been with for your entire career, but I doubt Mitchell would turn his eyes up at a club that regularly competes in the Champions League.
Palace will have a price and only time will tell if Galatasaray can meet their demands.
At least United know to expect competition if they target Mitchell in January or beyond.
