Crystal Palace earned a point after playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Eagles went into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss to Fulham at Selhurst Park earlier this month.
However, Palace produced an impressive performance against Villa, forcing their opponents to share the spoils.
Oliver Glasner’s side went in front inside the opening four minutes through Ismaila Sarr, but Ollie Watkins levelled the scores by rounding the goalkeeper and passing into an empty net.
The South Londoners retook the lead when Justin Devenny converted Sarr’s cross on the stroke of half-time, but Ross Barkley salvaged a point for the hosts with a 77th-minute goal.
Palace fans may not be entirely satisfied with the result, but they would have been thrilled by watching the performances of their star players.
There were several encouraging displays, but Maxence Lacroix was the most impressive of all.
The 24-year-old was solid in defence and produced several key interventions to help his team secure a draw.
He registered eight clearances, five tackles and three interceptions. Lacroix won all of his aerial duels and over 80 percent of his ground duels.
He had 43 touches in the game and completed 16 of his 23 passes.
Lacroix joined Palace last summer in a deal worth up to £18 million. He has hit the ground running, starting nine Premier League matches and contributing an assist.
The Frenchman has been averaging 4.6 clearances, 2.0 tackles, 1.9 interceptions and 4.7 ball recoveries per game in the English top-flight.
He will hope to continue his good form when Palace host Newcastle United next weekend.
