Crystal Palace are ‘not one of the clubs’ who are showing interest in a Leeds United defensive target who has a release clause in his deal, according to journalist Richard Cawley.
The Eagles scooped up the FA Cup in the recent season and with it a ticket into next term’s Europa League.
Oliver Glasner wants to strengthen, but Palace could be tested for their own key players, not least centre-back Marc Guehi.
Millwall defender Japhet Tanganga, who has been strongly linked with Leeds, could have been an obvious addition for Crystal Palace to make to boost their defensive options.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has a release clause in his Lions deal which is set at £1.2m.
Despite that though, Palace are ‘not one of the clubs’ who are keen to sign Tanganga this summer.
Even if Crystal Palace did want the Millwall man then they could well have a tough job convincing him to make the move.
The centre-back at the moment is giving priority to a move to either France or Germany.
Tanganga is keen to try his luck abroad and his release clause means he is likely to be an extremely attractive target.
He shone at Millwall last season as the Lions enjoyed a good campaign in the Championship.
Millwall could though lose his services this summer in what would be a real blow ahead of next season, where they will want to challenge for a playoff spot.
Leeds are in the market for defensive reinforcements and are closing in on Udinese’s Jaka Bijol.
It is unclear if signing the Slovenia international might end any interest in Tanganga, but Whites boss Daniel Farke will want real squad depth to tackle a season in the Premier League.
Tanganga was highly rated at Tottenham and there were some eyebrows raised when the north London side released him last summer.
